TAVERN LEAGUE OF BURNETT COUNTY MINUTES
September 13th, 2024
President Chuck Anderson called the meeting to order. The meeting was held at The REC. Members present were Sweeny's, B & O, Midtown, Pine Wood Motel, Last Call, Salty Steer, The REC, 10th Hole, Webb Lake Tavern, Cabaret, Gandy Dancer, Crow Bar, Pour House, McKenzie Landing, Sand Bar on 70 and Hummers.
The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
Antitrust Statement was read.
Meeting was suspended for guests:
Scott Hill from One Stop Computer Shop in Siren attended the meeting to give an update on the Staying Connected app.
Todd from Burnett Co. Area Fish Bus attended the meeting to talk about his bus service and handed out flyers. For information about the service call 715-817-3350.
The Secretary/Treasurer reports were accepted as submitted.
CHARITY
Charity slips will be handed out at each meeting to fill out or you can email Kathy or bring reports anytime.
CORRESPONDENCE
League Leader Updates:
Chuck Anderson went through the TLW endorsed candidates list.
TLW is looking for nominees for the Member of the Year Award.
We need a member from Burnett County to be on the nominating committee at the fall convention. John Vandergon volunteered.
League Leaders Day – Was held August 26th at the Holiday Inn, Stevens Point. No one from Burnett County attended.
District 8 Fall Caucus – September 16th at the Eagle River Inn hosted by Vilas County. Six are attending from Burnett County.
Fall Convention 2024 – September 30th-Oct. 3rd at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. Room block is open. Becky Fender will be doing a saw for the auction.
New TLBC website is up and running. Go to www.tavernlbc.com and check it out.
Make sure you are using the new TLW app. More user friendly for you to input your information and specials.
MEMBERSHIP REPORT
Reviewed latest active/inactive list from TLW.
Just a reminder that TLW is urging everyone to start paying their dues on their anniversary date. If you don't know your anniversary date please get in touch with Kathy. To make this process easier, there is an autopay option for TLW to have your dues automatically taken out of your bank account. If you are interested, please see Kathy.
Remember we have a thumb-drive from TLW that is a brief presentation as to why a business should join the tavern league.
FUNDRAISERS
$50 Raffle Tickets – October 12th, 2024 is the date for our raffle ticket party at Crow Bar. Jess from Crow Bar has distributed most of the tickets and had some available at the meeting along with posters. Please turn your money and stubs into the Crow Bar.
TLBC Golf Tournament Report – Golf tournament was held at Frederic Golf Course on August 18th. John Vandergon gave a report. Deposits (hole games, sponsors, entry fees) was $14,735. Expenses were $8,310.00. Profit on tournament was $6,425.00. Thanks Tim on a great tournament!
State Golf Tournament – Was held September 9th, 2024 at Fox Hollow Golf Course, La Crosse. Hummers sponsored a team.
State Raffle - $100/ticket. Sold all five tickets at the meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
Coasters – Pour House made a motion that we do coasters again this year, 2nd by Webb Lake.
NEW BUSINESS
Polk County Golf Tournament at Frederic Golf Course September 23rd. $100/Hole sponsorship. Contact Tim Vasatka for details.
Drawing was won by Pinewood Motel and donated back. Thank you!

REMINDER:
Everyone is eligible to have a meeting at their establishment if they show up for a monthly meeting. New members are encouraged to show up to see what we are all about and if you attend 2 meetings in a row you are eligible to have that next meeting. It is a great way to host and to meet the other Tavern League members.
Every Tavern League member is eligible for the next meeting except for: Joker's, Junkyard Bar, Bumps, Frederic Golf Course, McKenzie Landing, The Local, Knotty Pines, Webb Lake Tavern, Sweeny's, Route 35, The REC and Salty Steer.
GOOD AND WELFARE
10th Hole – Customer appreciation September 29th.
McKenzie Landing – Backyard rib cook-off September 14th.
The meeting was adjourned.
SAFE RIDE REPORT
B & O made a motion to donate $250 to Jordan Buck Days. Motion had a second and passed.
